Why I chose Hand Surgery

The balance between human compassion and anatomic precision; intricate artistic finesse and unwavering physical maneuverability. These seeming dichotomies are what initially sparked my attraction to orthopedics, and what drew me unwaveringly to the field of hand surgery. There is a tremendous amount of depth in the field of hand, providing a surgeon with the ability to be involved in a wide range of surgeries. With a patient population ranging from infant to elderly it is possible to be the hand surgeon for generations of a family throughout the course of one’s career.
Having traveled to over thirty countries around the world, I have gained a rich appreciation for the diversity and beauty of different cultures, religions, and nations, allowing me to develop a patient-centered approach to care.
I believe that my dedication to achieving surgical precision, combined with a deep sense of empathy for my patients as individuals, has guided me and will continue to guide me in the right direction during career in hand surgery.
In the words of John F. Kennedy, “To those whom much is given, much is expected.” Thank you to all of you who place your trust in me as your surgeon.
